What do you do if your toddler bites or hits you? Or if he pulls kitty's tail? Or if he rips a toy out of his baby sister's hand? What do you say to your 4 year old who drew on her bedroom wall with bright red crayon? Or refuses to get into her car seat?
Join this 2-hour workshop to learn gentle discipline strategies for effectively managing and reducing your toddler's/preschooler's negative or acting out behaviors. Unlike mainstream approaches to discipline, such as timeouts or "consequences" which are ineffective and harm the child's self esteem, the tips and tools offered in this workshop are effective yet also gentle; these strategies will nurture your child's sense of self, serving not only to reduce negative behaviors, but more importantly, to deepen your parent-child relationship and enhance the feeling of mutual respect and love for one another. Parents will leave this workshop with a fundamental understanding of their child's emotional and psychological development and several concrete tools for avoiding the typical power struggles between parents and young children, ultimately leading to happier parents and healthier kids.
