Breastfeeding Class - Getting Started and Beyond (Sunday, June 10th @ 2pm)

Sunday, June 10th 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Breastfeeding may be natural, but it's not always easy. In this breastfeeding class you'll learn everything you need to know to breastfeed your baby. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, breastmilk production, getting the proper latch, positioning of baby for breastfeeding, how to be sure your baby is getting enough milk, important steps to sucess that you must do within the first five days of birth, avoiding breastfeeding pitfalls, when and how to introduce a bottle, pumping and storing and tips for breastfeeding throughout that first year. You'll watch videos of babies breastfeeding, as well as practice breastfeeding positioning and learn tips for being able to comfortably breastfeed your baby.

This class is designed for expecting mothers. For postpartum breastfeeding support, please join our weekly Breastfeeding Support Group. And for private consultations for learning to breastfeed your newborn baby, please contact us.

What's the difference between this class and a hospital breastfeeding class? In a hospital breastfeeding class, you'll be with 20-30 other couples in a conference room and viewing a projector for most of the class. In our comfortable setting, we limit the class to not more than 5-6 pregnant women (plus a support person) so that each couple has time to digest the information and receive personal attention to ensure that each couple has learned the reasons to breastfeed and how to get started. Each mother-to-be also receives a breastfeeding book that she will appreciate having througout her entire breastfeeding journey. And the class is taught by a mother of three breastfed babies that is also a CLEC and Postpartum Doula and is truly passionate in supporting each mother in breastfeeding their baby.
