What’s for breakfast? Oatmeal!

My kids favorite breakfast food is oatmeal. I used to make them those little package oatmeal that you heat up in the microwave and then one day I decided that it was time to find a more nutritious and homemade recipe. Best breakfast decision ever!

Here’s our base recipe:
1/2 cup cracked wheat
1/2 cup oatmeal
2 cups milk

Mix the ingredients in a pot on medium heat and bring to an almost boil. Then reduce and cook on low for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add ons – add one or more of the add ons below to taste and serve.
Frozen or fresh berries
Honey
Brown Sugar
Cinnamon
Raisins

The fastest my kids ever eat is when they eat oatmeal for breakfast. And I love to hear the words….MOOOORE!
