Lavender + Chamomile Oatmeal Cleanser

Oats + Lavender + Chamomile

I’m loving this new cleanser (can also be used as a gentle exfoliate) so much that I look forward to washing my face in the evening. It’s made with natural ingredients ~ so natural that you can also cook with this same mix.  Lavender and Chamomile have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties as well as having oils that are known to calm and soothe. And Oatmeal enhances your natural beauty.

Lavender + Chamomile Oatmeal Cleanser

1 part oatmeal

1 part dried lavender buds

1 part dried chamomile

Using a coffee grinder that you will only use for herbs, finely grind the oatmeal, lavender and chamomile. You’ll need to grind it finely or the oats will clog your bath drain. I ran it through my coffee grinder 2-3 times to get it fine enough. Then mix your oatmeal, lavender buds and chamomile together and store in a jar in your bathroom.

To use your Herbal Oatmeal Cleanser – pour a palm full into your hand, then pour a little water in your hand and mix the using your finger. Keep your hand cupped so that the cleanser stays in your hand while you mix in the water. Then simply wash your face and rinse. I like to cup my hands over my mouth and nose while washing my face and take in the combined scents of the herbs. I have oily skin and use this as my evening cleanser followed by a Witch Hazel and Lavender toner. However you may find that this is more of an exfoliate for you and you’ll use it just once a week or so.
