How to Wash a Cotton Woven Wrap

For this post, let’s discuss washing a cotton wrap. If it’s a brand new wrap, I always wash it on its on with cold water, regular cycle and less detergent than I’d use if I was washing regular clothing. Don’t wash a brand new wrap with other items, as you risk having the colors bleed on the other items. After the first wash, I tend to wash my wraps with regular clothing. When washing a woven wrap, avoid heavy fragrances, brighteners and fabric softener. All these will create a film on your wrap over time and affect the texture of the wrap. Some wraps can be dried in the dryer, but a regardless of the fabric blend, dryers will remove color from your wrap over time. To preserve the color, it’s best to hang the wrap to dry.
